We peeked at the secret diary of one of our guests… And we’ll tell you everything you could do during a 3-day stay at Locanda Al Piave.
Day 1 ·
I woke up early, listening to the sounds of the city awakening around me. I went downstairs for a great breakfast and, while I was savoring a freshly baked brioche and a creamy cappuccino, I saw that outside the day was sunny as I had hoped… I immediately made my decision: a day at the seaside in Jesolo, among golden beaches, refined restaurants and pleasant walks in the shade of the maritime pines of the famous Via Bafile.
I reached the city by car in just over 20 minutes (but I discovered that it is also connected to San Donà by bus every 30 minutes). As a first stop, I stopped to see the lighthouse again, a truly iconic symbol of the city. After a dip in the water, for lunch I chose a special little restaurant right in the center, where you can find the best seafood traditions, combined with creative and special reinterpretations.
In the afternoon I rented a bike, with which I set off to discover the city until I reached the pine forest and the ancient seaside village of Cortellazzo. I will not easily forget the serenity of this very restful day.
Day 2 ·
Today the weather was more variable, a little cloudy but not too hot: the perfect climate to set off to discover Venice. A little more than half an hour by train and here I am in Venice Santa Lucia: it was a real thrill to see for the first time the most famous city on water in the world.
During the morning, I walked to Piazza San Marco, where I had booked entry to the Basilica and Palazzo Ducale: I had been waiting for months to visit them and both exceeded my expectations. For lunch, what better choice than a bacaro tour, with delicious cicchetti and the inevitable Spritz.
In the afternoon I chose to walk aimlessly… Inevitably, I got lost in the labyrinth of Venetian streets, taking my time to savor the slow rhythms of the most popular sestieri of the city. When I returned to the hotel I was very tired, but really happy with the day.
Day 3 ·
For my last day at the hotel, I chose to plan a bike excursion along the Piave river: the start of the route is really convenient from the hotel, which is located a couple of minutes walk from the floodplain.
I reach an enchanting place, where the Piave meets the Sile river, a breathtaking route where on the right I have the Sile river and on the left opens the Venice Lagoon with its wonderful pink flamingos. When I returned to the hotel, the owner showed me several other cycling routes that I will be able to discover on my next visits.
And before hitting the highway… A stop at the McArthur Glen Outlet, one of the largest in Europe, where I promised myself I would spend some time doing some healthy shopping before heading home.
